In
conjunction with each exhibition, the Museum presents a variety
of programs in order to offer visitors diverse approaches to enjoying
and learning about contemporary art.
Group Tours: Schools and other groups may schedule a tour of
any exhibition, free of charge, with our specially trained gallery
teachers. Just call 713-284-8274 at least ten days in advance
of your visit.
FAQ team: Our FAQteam (Frequently Asked Questions
team) is available on Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays to answer
questions about
the exhibition, about contemporary art in general, or to give quick on-the-spot
tours. The FAQteam is a group of young artists and art historians
who
study each exhibition in order to discuss the work with Museum
visitors.
Lectures & Events: The Museum offers several
gallery talks for every exhibition, presenting an array of ideas
on each show—voices
which range from exhibiting artists to international scholars
to interesting viewpoints from related fields. Artists/Scholars
Talks are given in
conjunction with Brown Foundation Gallery exhibitions; Perspectives
Talks are presented for the Perspectives gallery shows; and
Evening Talks at Steel Lounge are offered in conjunction
with Houston Chronicle Steel Lounge, for those who wish to
learn more
about the
exhibitions
on view.
