Gallery Talks and Lectures

The Museum offers many talks on every exhibition, presenting an array of ideas on each show—voices which range from exhibiting artists to international scholars to interesting viewpoints from related (and sometimes unrelated) fields. Check our calendar.

Music, Film, AND Performance Events

CAMH Loft Concerts are specially programmed by the renowned contemporary classical group Musiqa for each Brown Foundation Gallery exhibition. Other recent musical performances have included the Texas Noise and Ambient Noise Environment festival, avant-garde and jazz concerts, interactive children’s musicals, as well as dance performances by local companies. CAMH also presents many films, ranging from high art to documentary to camp, often in collaboration with other great Houston arts organizations.

Community Programs

The Museum provides ongoing programs about contemporary art that are not related to a specific exhibition on view. Our Slide Jam and Video Jam series presents two local artists per evening, discussing their work, and answering questions from the audience. Check our calendar. If you are an artist and would like to be considered for the Slide Jam or Video Jam, please contact Paula Newton, Director of Education and Public Programs.
