The
Contemporary Arts Museum Houston is located in the city’s vibrant
Museum District. Situated in the heart of Houston, the Museum District
is surrounded by prestigious universities, a world-renowned medical
center, and is home to some of the most distinguished museums in
the world. Since its formation in 1997, the Houston Museum District
has grown into one of the country’s premier cultural destinations,
welcoming more than 5.9 million visitors in 2001. The District
is overseen by the Houston Museum District Association, which exists
to facilitate collaboration among its members.
